Scholarships & Grants



GRANTS:
Two (2) grants will be awarded to support scholarship activities including but not limited to research, presentations at conferences, publications and other professional development activities.  Publications and presentations do not need to be accepted for award. The amount of the grant will be for the amount of $500.

Here are the requirements:


  1. Applicants must include a 20 minute presentation of the submitted work and agree to present at a Phi Nu webinar within six months of the award. Funds will be awarded AFTER the Phi Nu presentation.
  2. Applicants must be current active members of Phi Nu and have maintained active membership for at least one year.

Scholarships:
A scholarship will be given to support a student’s education. The amount of the scholarship will be for the amount of $500. Each applicant will be required to write an essay and submit their unofficial transcript along with being able to accept the scholarship via electronic payment.

Here are the criteria:
  1. RN to BSN
    1. GPA 3.0 or above.
    2. Must be enrolled in at least 5 credits during the term applying for the scholarship.
    3. Must have completed at least 50% of the required academic credits required for the program of study. Current unofficial transcript must be submitted with application.
    4. Membership in good standing in the Phi Nu chapter of Sigma.
    5. Submission of a 200-word essay stating why he/she should receive the scholarship and how he/she hopes to contribute to nursing and social change
  2. MSN
    1. GPA 3.2 or above.
    2. Must be enrolled in at least 5 credits during the term applying for the scholarship.
    3. Must have completed at least 50% of the required academic credits required for the program of study. Current unofficial transcript must be submitted with application.
    4. Membership in good standing in the Phi Nu chapter of Sigma.
    5. Submission of a 200-word essay stating why he/she should receive the scholarship and how he/she hopes to contribute to nursing and social change
  3. Doctoral (DNP or PhD)
    1. GPA 3.5 or above.
    2. Must be enrolled in at least 5 credits during the term applying for the scholarship.
    3. Must have completed at least 50% of the required academic credits required for the program of study. Current unofficial transcript must be submitted with application.
    4. Membership in good standing in the Phi Nu chapter of Sigma.
    5. Submission of a 200-word essay stating why he/she should receive the scholarship and how he/she plans to contribute to nursing and social change
